this was an awesome idea i thought I would put down after studying for monday exam. I wrote it all out and it sounded really cool - rocky and dancy and a bit like the infadels and that sort of stuff… then the computer crashed and i hadn’t saved (which is weird cause i usually hit command-s every ten seconds) i tried to recreate it but it lacks the energy/swagger and coolness of the original attempt…
-first mixdown attempt i exported the wrong track
-second mixdown i accidentally pitch shifted the guitar up 2 octaves
there is still something really wrong with the mix (synth and guitar not agreeing)
still putting it online though cause i like the rhythm of the guitar and it is first proper thing i have attempted with my new toys (korg nanopad and Kontact sampler plugin)
i got a bit carried away with new drum sequencer… too much fun :-P
the chords are only in there to remind me where the bars start/finish :-P
In 2006 (i think - black holes and revelations by muse had just been released) I went to Europe for the second time with my family. After travelling around for a couple months my family went home and I stayed in Germany - visiting an ex/friend who was an exchange student a couple years earlier at my school. Her then boyfriend Steven is the coolest person I have ever met and probably most responsible for my smoking. he played bass and we were into all the same bands - stuff like muse and the mare volta… except he knew more - like mclusky and art brut and stuff… anyway - we started making music together. we had this great concept album idea that we worked out and stuff which we still havent done -when i went home (overstaying my visa by a bit) we started swapping songs by email and working on them and stuff - everything we did was pretty experimental and ambient/computer based… we called it all mediocremusic… just remembered one of then tracks and thought i would share
